About us

Founded by those who understand what it takes.

The story

An insight that grew out of experience

iSociety was founded by a group of senior leaders who, over the course of their careers, had experienced the same thing: the market for interim and consulting leadership rarely matched the best leaders with the most important assignments. Volume came before depth. Availability came before fit.

It was an insight that grew out of the experience of seeing what can happen when an organisation, at a defining moment, gets a leader who is merely adequate rather than right.

We created iSociety as a consultant network of senior leaders who choose their assignments with care, work with professional integrity, and know that the role of advisor and leader demands judgment and an understanding of what's happening within an organisation.

An experienced leader carries the ability to read what an organisation truly needs, and the courage to act on it.

Selection

Depth over breadth

We work with fewer leaders and fewer clients, but with genuinely deep relationships. That's what lets us understand the needs on both sides, and stand behind every match.

Community

Collegial grounding

Working as an independent senior leader can be lonely. iSociety is a place where experiences are shared openly, difficult situations are reflected on together, and leadership is strengthened by being surrounded by peers.

Perspective

Relationships as foundation

We look for partnerships. That means we're selective, honest about what we can contribute, and clients who work with us notice the difference.

An experienced leader stands by a tall glass wall, looking out over the water and the city.

The consultant network

Leaders who have done it

There's a clear difference between someone who knows how leadership works in theory and someone who carries the experience of having led under pressure, with responsibility, in environments where mistakes are visible.

The leaders at iSociety belong to the latter category. They have carried executive responsibility. They have navigated political and organisational landscapes. They have driven unplanned change and learned along the way.

Belonging to the consultant network requires being who you say you are.

  • Urban and societal development
  • Real estate and infrastructure
  • Sustainability and environment
  • Energy and climate
  • Public sector and administration
  • Strategic change leadership
  • Organisational development
  • Transport and logistics

Our view of leadership

Leadership begins
with listening well.

There's a leadership that creates momentum through decisiveness. And one that creates momentum through understanding. The best leaders we know master both, and know when each is called for.

They're as comfortable asking the uncomfortable questions as they are formulating the answers. They see when an organisation needs stability, and when it needs to be challenged. And they have the courage to act on that insight.

That's the kind of leadership iSociety provides: a partnership.
